From Our President...
Hello, Everyone!
Over the last three years we’ve really come a long way:
- the quality of art and artists;
- the dedication and commitment of our volunteers;
- our beautiful gallery and studio space and
- the community we find ourselves in and all its support.
And now we’re ready as an organization to take it to the next level.
At the November member meeting it was announced that Elsie Porter has been appointed as the new Director of Operations. Elsie brings with her the business experience to build an organization like ours and a passion for art and serving artists that make her a great fit for this new position. Please join me in welcoming her to this exciting challenge.
At the January meeting, we'll present information about new activities Elsie has planned for 2009. You'll also hear about new cash awards for winners in our exhibits. 2009 will be a year of exciting opportunities at Kudzu, so don't miss the January meeting!

Next Member Meetings...
Remember, it's the fourth Monday of each month for our member meetings, but all are welcome. Please invite friends to attend with you - to learn, have fun, meet some fantastic artists and enjoy the presentations.
Refreshments are served at 6:30pm and the meeting begins at 7:00.

Open Studio at Kudzu ...
Are you looking for a special time and place to paint...and enjoy a creative time with other artists? Then please come on Tuesdays from 10am to 3:30pm to the Open Studio at Kudzu. Bring your own easels and other supplies. Diana Dice will be available for critique at 12 noon before we go to lunch (or you can bring your own lunch) and again at 3 pm. The cost per session is free for members, $5 for non-members (funds go to support Kudzu Art Zone). All levels are welcome. Call Diana Dice for further information.
At the Gallery...
CREATIVE BEGINNINGS -- The first KAZ gallery exhibit of 2009 opens Friday, January 16 and continues until February 21. Members can deliver up to three entries on Friday, January 2 or Saturday January 3, 11:00-3:45. Along with the entry, a brief description of how the work(s) became "your creative beginning," can be submitted on a separate sheet. This will be displayed either on the wall or in an album for visitors to read.
Beginning with this exhibit, a $10 entry fee will be required for up to three entries. This fee will be used for gallery budget items such as the juror's fee, a new cash award for the 1st place winner, advertising and opening night refreshments.
The "8 x 10 Variations" work can be picked up Saturday, January 3, between 3:00 and 3:45 or at the next meeting. Work not picked up will be placed in the storeroom.
Paizanos Restaurant work can be brought to the January meeting, Monday, January 26. New work is generally hung the Friday after our meeting and old work returned to the gallery storeroom on the same day.

Just click the postcard to send it to your friends and family! Detailed instructions are in the latest web guide which is also available in the members only area. Help us increase traffic to our shows by using this new promotional feature.
