Experimenting with Bob’s high-energy approach to painting was always challenging!

WOW! The Robert Burridge Workshop was a wonderful success! We all thank him for coming and sharing his many creative, yet amazingly simple, ideas on how to really have fun being a painter. There were even tips on marketing, mounting your work for display and pricing your work. We had 21 people participate in this event, including 9 KAZ members. A big thank you to Kathy Kitz for all the work she did preparing for and organizing this event. We hosted a reception for Robert Thursday evening, April 1, which was well attended by workshop students and other KAZ members. Art done during the workshop was on display all over the studio walls.
Robert Burridge - with some of his KAZ students... what fun!
Having more workshops like this is a goal we have set. Arrangements are being made now for events to take place over the next 2-3 years. If you know of a particular artist you would like to lead a workshop for us, please let a council member know. These events are fun and educational in helping us learn and expand our artistic talents.
Sincerely, MCKAZ

The current gallery show Bursts of Creativity features the juried work of Kudzu Art Zone members, March 26 through Saturday, May 22. Charles Young Walls, the guest juror, spent many hours asking these questions, “What was the intent of the artist and how successful is the art in this regard?” as he chose the thirty-nine works featured. The opening reception is Friday, April 9 from 7-9 pm.
Open Studio: Tuesdays from 10 am to 4 pm. A great time to get together with fellow artists to paint and enjoy sharing ideas. Contact Diana Dice for more info.

“Bob is a wonderful teacher, sharing what he has learned about marketing along with his unique painting technique. Everyone had fun painting with their fingers painting and using paper towels instead of brushes with great results. More than one artist requested Bob return for another workshop and I agree.” —Kathy Kitz
“What an exhausting but wonderful week at Kudzu Art Zone! The 5-day workshop was entertaining, educational, colorful, fun, productive, enlightening, inspirational, humbling, awesome, and so much more. Bob’s presentation was never disappointing as he encouraged us through demonstrations, examples and talk to come share the pie of what makes art and artists a success.” — Sandy Lacy
